White Lama

country house design

The client envisioned a minimalist interior devoid of excessive adornments, while her husband leaned towards a Provence-style aesthetic. Despite budget constraints, we devised a strategy to blend statement designer pieces with simpler décor elements. Many bespoke items were crafted specifically for the project based on our designs. Natural materials played a pivotal role in achieving our stylistic vision, allowing us to circumvent additional expenses through strategic design techniques.

The house possessed distinct characteristics that intrigued us from the outset. The ground floor featured brick walls, while the upper level boasted charming log construction. The dining room presented a challenge due to its modest size, prompting us to explore expansion options. To address the asymmetric division caused by the fireplace chimney, we ingeniously devised a duct to reposition it. This solution not only enlarged the space significantly but also allowed for the concealment of essential utilities, cleverly utilizing interior space while enhancing aesthetic appeal with a mirrored finish on the second floor.

Our aim was to fashion a luminous and inviting interior, tailored to accommodate a family of four. Embracing a palette of white with accents of soft gray and beige hues, we cultivated an atmosphere of serenity and warmth. Honoring the clients' penchant for minimalism, we integrated elements of glass, transparent plastic, and mirrors throughout the space, enhancing its airy and spacious ambience.
We curated the living environment, harnessing the inherent structure of the house. Our approach seamlessly blends contemporary interior concepts with distinctive elements drawn from softer styles like Provence and Neo-Romanticism, infusing the space with timeless charm and modern sensibilities.

The interior was crafted with the young occupants of the house in consideration. During the design process and the selection of furnishings, we prioritized safety by avoiding sharp corners and potentially hazardous details, ensuring a secure and nurturing environment for the children.
