Our clients got inspiration for the design of the interior from an American series. It actually happens quite often – a successful work of a set designer can make a million TV audience want to recreate the interior seen on the screen. The “Mad Men” series about admen from the Madison Avenue could be a good example. The interiors created for the series gave a rise to the 70-s inspired fashion in interior design. As for our clients, they were impressed by a totally different series with American classics interiors which the designers needed to recreate in their new house.

“We got a request for an interior which required large investments,” recalls Nadezhda, “but the budget was limited, so we had to be creative. The whole approach to the project design was based on a combination of expensive and cheap details. And the use of hand-made elements”.

Despite a limited budget, the project went off smoothly, the fact that both the customers and the designers had a good sense of humor really helped. “I enjoyed the fact that the customers were always ready to joke or to put on a little show”, — continues Nadezhda. — They appreciated the fly pattern on the carpet in the study and the portrait of Cesaria Evora over the console table in the hall and a collection of chairs of various design around the dining table”.

Although the project has been realized, the designers still keep visiting the clients, as they have become good friends. There is always a reason. “Usually at each of our projects a baby is born. As for this one, two babies were born with a break of several years,” say the designers.
